Al Wahda Secure 2-1 Win over Ittihad Kalba in ADIB Cup
Goals from Sebastian Tagliabue and Luis Miguel were the difference for Al Wahda in a 2-1 win over Ittihad Kalba in the first leg of the ADIB Cup’s first round.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 56th minute when they were awarded a penalty kick after Luis Miguel was brought down inside the box by Igor Rossi, prompting the referee to point to the spot.
Sebastian Tagliabue stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 1-0.
Two minutes later, Al Wahda added the second goal of the night when Khalil Ibrahim teed Luis Miguel on the left wing as the latter brilliantly cut inside the box and lobbed the ball into the back of the net with a smart finish.
The visitors narrowed the gap in the death when Peniel Mlapa stepped up to drill the spot-kick straight into the top corner of Rashed Ali’s net, to make it 2-1.
The second leg between the two clubs will take place on Saturday, November 26th, at Ittihad Kalba Stadium.
