ADNOC PRO LEAGUE
“Al Wahda achieved an important victory against the visiting Ittihad Kalba with a score of ‘2-1’ in the sixth round of the Adnoc Pro League.
Pitso Mosimane relied on a starting lineup composed of ‘Al Shamsi in goal, Butti – Zuhair – Pimenta – Ruben, Allan – Nourollah – Tahnoon – Al Somhi, Khribin – Facundo Daniel.’
The first half did not bring any notable events, as neither Al Wahda nor Kalba succeeded in breaking through the opponent’s defense.
The second half started with the team’s coach making two substitutions to change the team’s style and penetrate the opponent’s defensive setup.
This was achieved by introducing ‘Ismail Matar as a substitute for Tahnoon Al Zaabi’ and ‘Guanca as a substitute for Al Somhi.’ Just one minute into the second half, Allan delivered a long pass that was a golden opportunity for ‘Omar Khribin,’ who converted it into a goal, announcing Al Wahda lead and superiority. The excitement continued in the second half when Kalbda midfielder, ‘Filip Kiss,’ received a red card in the 51st minute. Al Shamsi also shone by saving a free-kick taken by Daniel Bessa. However, ‘Mehdi Ghaedi’ brought Kalba back into the game with an equalizing goal in the 69th minute from a direct free-kick.
In the 84th minute, Daniel Bessa was red-carded for clearing a dangerous ball from Al Wahda near the goal line. The referee awarded a penalty kick, which ‘Christian Guanca’ expertly converted into a goal.
This allowed Al Wahda to regain the lead and finish the match with a victory, returning to the path of success after a series of less favorable results. With this win, Al Wahda raises their points tally to ‘9’ points after six rounds of the Adnoc Pro League, trailing the leaders by a margin of ‘5 or 6 points,’ as per the final results of the round.”
